A fire broke out on Sunday morning in an apartment building on Tsamadou Street, in the Upper Town of Thessaloniki.

Immediate Action police rushed to the scene and freed an elderly woman from the fourth floor of the apartment building, who was picked up by an EKAV ambulance and taken to Hippocrates Hospital as she is suffering from breathing problems.

Also, a 25-year-old woman with breathing problems was transferred to Hippocrates Hospital. Previously, the 25-year-old, who lives in a neighboring apartment, jumped from the balcony of the fourth floor to the third and from there, with the help of a neighbor, managed to get out of the apartment building. A little while later, they handed over to the 25-year-old her cat which had remained in the apartment.

15 firefighters with 6 vehicles and a special boom truck responded to the scene.
