Ford Pro introduces the all-new Ranger Wildtrak X to Europe’s best-selling pick-up model family, creating the widest range of models in its history
Ford Pro today revealed the new Ranger Wildtrak X with a focus on off-road driving. So Europe’s best-selling pickup model gets the most complete range in its history.
Aimed at customers with high demands for use in tough, off-road conditions, the model features a significantly redesigned chassis framed by unique suspension upgrades, including standard Bilstein shock absorbers. Driver assistance systems 1 focused on off-road driving provide increased confidence, while it adopts a new, rugged style that reflects its superiority on rough terrain.
The Ranger Wildtrak X offers a first-in-class Flexible Rack System, an option that maximizes the ability to carry longer items. This easy-to-use system will also be available as an option for the Ranger Limited and Wildtrak versions.

The introduction of the new Ranger Wildtrak X follows on from last year when the popular pickup recorded the highest sales in its history. 2 A record market share of 44.9%, combined with year-on-year share growth of 18%, sealed the model’s eight consecutive years of segment leadership.
Orders open in March 2023, while deliveries will begin in September 2023.
Ranger Wildtrak X
The Ranger Wildtrak X is based on the Wildtrak with an increased ground clearance of 26mm and a longer track of 30mm for better handling on rough terrain. 3 Bilstein’s standard high-performance dampers with position-sensitive technology provide the right amount of damping force throughout their travel to enhance off-road capability without compromising on-road performance. Also, an upgraded “heavy-duty” hydraulic steering system combined with a steel protective apron offer even more confidence in off-road conditions.
Standard, new off-road technologies include Trail Turn Assist, 1 which uses a brake-based torque vectoring system to reduce turning radius by up to 25% in tight spaces. Trail Control 1 works like cruise control: the driver can select a speed below 32 km/h and the vehicle will automatically manage acceleration and braking to maintain the selected speed, focusing on difficult terrain in the steering maneuvers. The Rock Crawl mode – previously only available on the Ranger Raptor – adjusts the throttle response, traction control and shift program for optimal control when driving at very low speed over rocky and rough terrain.
Ford’s proven 2.0L EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel engine powers the Wildtrak X, 4 version delivering 500Nm of torque from 1,750rpm. and a power of 205 PS combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission. 5 An advanced, new permanent four-wheel drive system that does not require driver intervention is designed to provide capabilities when and where customers need them.
The new Ranger Wildtrak X sends a strong visual message with its wider width, underbody protection and increased ground clearance compared to the existing Wildtrak. The model’s appearance is further accentuated by the unique Asphalt Black grille surround, the distinctive front bumper shape bar, the wheel arch trims and the rear bumper. Optional LED matrix headlights with auxiliary lamps in the grille offer optimal visibility. Massive Wildtrak X logos, black oval Ford badging and matching 17-inch black alloy wheels paired with all-terrain tires complete the more hardcore off-road styling.
Inside, passengers enjoy unique suede-trimmed Miko seats with exclusive Wildtrak X embroidery, supported by soft-touch Terra suede with contrasting Cyber Orange stitching found on the upper dash, door trims and center console. console. Built-in connectivity with FordPass 6 and Ford Pro services such as FORDLiive are standard, enhancing the ownership experience.
The first in the category Flexible Rack System
The Ranger Wildtrak X can be ordered with Ford’s new innovative Flexible Rack System. 7 This unique system’s retractable roof rack and adjustable-sliding load collar allow long items to be carried over the roof instead of being squeezed between the tailgate and the cabin. This improves load security and frees up space in the trolley for other items. The Flexible Rack System will also be available as optional equipment on the Ranger Limited and Wildtrak from March 2023.
