The Thessaloniki Police investigated the homicide case against the Roma woman who was found dead on Tuesday morning in a car in the Chalkidona area, with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to the police her 34-year-old son was identified as the perpetrator. The young man is brought to deal with psychological problems and reportedly held his mother responsible for his father’s death.

The woman was known to the authorities, as he had worked for drug cases and had even been imprisoned and released.

The woman was spotted in a white vehicle behind the Directorate of Agriculture building, near the cemeteries. The vehicle was spotted by an employee of the Department of Agriculture at approximately 7:45 in the morning. As he reported to Voria.gr, he saw the abandoned car and immediately called the police as, as he notes, stolen vehicles are occasionally left at this spot. As he explains, he was afraid of this and did not come any closer and immediately called the police.

The victim was shot with a rifle at such close range that the woman’s skull was pulverized. In fact, when the police first saw the body, they thought it had been decapitated. The crime weapon has not yet been identified and investigations are ongoing.

At the point there is a sign that the investigations of the Life Crimes Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate are in full progress.
