A colorful celebration of givingof solidarity and cooperation, which connects all parts of the city and its people, is organized for the first time this year by the Municipality of Athens, through Syn Athena, with the participation of more than 200 organizations and agencies.

The 1st Athens Civil Society Festival, which takes place in Serafio from April 21 to 23 – with free entry – is dedicated to the work and actions of the Civil Society bodies and their interaction with the city and its residents.

On the three days of the Festival (from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) the participating agencies they will present the actions, their work and vision, while together they will highlight the importance of contribution and cooperation in a city like Athens, with the great need for solidarity, but also with the unlimited possibilities to send the message that “together we are stronger” .

In his statement, the mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, he emphasized: “It is a huge celebration and an opportunity for all of us to come out of our shells. Let’s see, listen, learn from each other. To expand the active and active part of the Civil Society. We thank the organizations that responded to this invitation of the Municipality of Athens and we invite everyone, young and old, to come to Serafion”.

The organizations, bodies and groups of Civil Society are connected through the seven themes of the Festival – Human Rights, Children, Health and Well-Being, Culture, Animal Welfare, Environment and Sustainability, Solidarity – creating an image of harmony.

In the Serafion area, a mosaic of 19 spaces of successive informative, entertaining and educational activities will be set up regarding diversity, accessibility, social integration, child protection, acceptance and visibility, neuro-diversity, the environment, physical and mental health and empowerment, well-being, active ageing, intergenerational dialogue, public space, but also music, dance, art, giving, volunteering.

THE “map” of the Festival consists of 140 information stands and bazaars, 43 children’s and youth activities and psycho-pedagogical games, 40 screenings and theatrical performances for young and old, 20 sports activities, 25 artistic workshops and exhibitions, 15 concerts and musical events, 30 experiential workshops and intervention workshops and 18 interactive talks and discussions.
