Mr. Tzanerrikos resigned after the announcement of the government’s intention to table an amendment whereby the legality control of the parties would be carried out by the full composition of the A1 Department
By Presidential Decree it was accepted -from 10.04.2023- resignation of the vice president of the Supreme Court Christos Tzanerrikos, who was until recently the president of the A1 Department of the Supreme Political Court, which is responsible for checking the legitimacy of the parties participating in the parliamentary elections. The Presidential Decree was issued at the proposal of the Minister of Justice Constantinos Tsiaras.
It is recalled that Mr. Tzanerrikos resigned after the announcement of the government’s intention to submit an amendment whereby the legality control of the parties would be carried out by the full composition of the A1 Department, i.e. its 11 members and not by the five-member composition, as was the case until then.
In particular, the Presidential Decree accepting the resignation of Mr. Tzanerrikos, published in the Government Gazette (Government Gazette, issue C, sheet 1090, of April 20, 2023), is as follows:
“By presidential decree of April 20, 2023, issued in Athens at the proposal of the Minister of Justice, in accordance with the provisions of articles 70 and 71 par. 4 of the Code of Organization of Courts and Status of Judicial Officers (law 4938/2022, A’ 109) , the resignation request from the service of the Vice-President of the Supreme Court, Christos Tzanerrikos tou Kosmas, is accepted from 10.04.2023.
The above honorably retains the title of the position he holds. (No. of deletion from the Human Resources Registry of the Greek State: 3417514911/20.04.2023)”.
