In a spectacular event Cupra revealed it Tavascanthe first fully electric SUV coupe in its range.

The Tavascan was developed on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric vehicle platform and is available with two horsepower options. At the top of the range is the 250 kW (340 HP) VZ version, with power transferred to the asphalt using an all-wheel drive system incorporating an electric motor on the front axle (80 kW and 134 Nm of torque) and another on the rear (210 kW and 545 Nm torque). From a standstill, the Cupra Tavascan VZ can reach 50 km/h in just 2.4 seconds. while 100 km/h comes in just 5.6 seconds.

There is also the Endurance version with an electric motor on the rear axle that transfers the power (210 kW-286 HP and 545 Nm of torque) to the respective wheels.

The lithium-ion battery is common to both versions and has an energy capacity of 77 kWh. It is a system placed inside an aluminum structure that is part of the body, increasing rigidity and keeping weight low and central. In the Endurance version the autonomy announced by the manufacturer reaches 550 km, while in the most powerful VZ 520 km (WLTP).

The second all-electric vehicle in the CUPRA series, after the Born, can add an additional 100 km of range in just 7 minutes. And when the battery level drops to 10%, it can be replenished to 80% in less than half an hour using a charging point of at least 135 kW.
