Those convicted of directing the criminal organization are being tried before the 3rd Single Member Criminal Court for public incitement of racist hatred Golden Dawn Nikos MichaloliakosIlias Kasidiaris and Panagiotis Iliopoulos.

The case concerns statements they had made in Parliament in March 2018 against minority MPs, whom they had called “agents of Turkey” as, as they said, “they have a Turkish conscience”.

For the positions they had expressed, they were disciplined by a unanimous decision of all the other parties with censure and a cut in salary.

The case reached the Court of Justice following a lawsuit based on the anti-racism law by the Hellenic Observatory of the Helsinki Accords.
