Crete was Digea’s second stop this year as part of the “Digea Heroes” Corporate Social Responsibility Program, after the company’s recent action in Ioannina and Thesprotia.
As part of the initiative to support the children, the CEO of the company, Mr. Nikos Mastorakis, and company executives, visited all the special schools and hospitality structures in the prefectures of Chania and Rethymno, where they offered electronic and useful items for the educational institutions and structures, as well and personal gifts for each child.
In detail they visited: The 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Special Primary School of Chania, the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Special Kindergarten of Chania, the ENEEGYL of Chania, the EEEEK of Chania, the EEEEK of Kissamos, the Child and Youth Protection Unit of Chania, the 1st Special Kindergarten & Special Primary School of Rethymno, EEEEK of Rethymno and ENEEGYL of Rethymno.
The children, parents and teachers embraced the action with a warm welcome, with songs, with crafts and paintings that they gave to the Digea team and with thanks for the donation of items, but above all for the physical presence, the interest and the smiles that distributed among the children’s faces.
In the context of the actions, the CEO of Digea, Mr. Nikos Mastorakis, said: “Through the corporate social responsibility program “Heroes of Digea”, we want to send a simple message to these children, their teachers and their families , that they are not alone and that society is close and supports them. We also want to emphasize, seeing the excellent work done in the structures, that all children with special needs should be in special schools and not at home, because their need for socialization and participation in the educational process that helps them to move on with their lives.”
The “Heroes of Digea” will continue their journey to cover all regions of Greece, giving smiles and offering support to children and local communities.
