The two new arrested persons, accused in the case of the murder and disappearance of the body of Marios Papageorgiou, appeared before the investigator today, after the second deadline they received yesterday.

The two defendants – 53 and 54 years old – were arrested a few days ago for premeditated homicide and kidnapping with complicity against the 26-year-old student, in August 2012.

The conversations that “burned” them

According to Light in the Tunnel, Mario’s family had appointed a Canadian investigator to the case. He was the one who decoded all those telephone conversations that EL.AS had ignored. and handed over a documented report that paved the way for new warrants and arrests.

In the same broadcast, conversations of the two arrested with the “brain” were presented, who anxiously asks to know if they finished the “job” he had assigned them.

“Brain”: “Did you make it? Did you do the work?’

G.K. (53-year-old arrested): “It’s over, it’s over, it’s over.”

The next day in the morning, he tells the “brain” who called him to meet, that they are dead tired and he cannot meet him.

G.K. (53-year-old arrested): “No. Maybe in the evening. You can’t imagine how awful the smell was from the burning.”

The Canadian researcher spoke to the “Tunnel” from Canada and said he was convinced that Mario’s body would be found: “I have submitted to the Greek justice system all the findings of my research and it is revealed what really happened to Mario”.

Who else is being investigated?

The new judicial investigation of the case was initiated by order of the Joint Jury Court of Appeal and mainly concerns nine personsincluding the family of the alleged mastermind of the criminal scheme, who has been sentenced to life and additional multi-year imprisonment in the first and second degree.

The appellate court ordered that the role be investigated of the two sons of the 78-year-old, who are former and current police officers, of wife of , who has been convicted in the first degree for complicity in attempted extortion and kidnapping and is now accused of complicity in murder, the two new arrestees who allegedly transported and disappeared the body of the student on the order of the lifer, as well as others four persons involved in the case.

The 26-year-old Marios Papageorgiou disappeared on August 9, 2012, when he had left in his car from Diakofto Achaia, where he was on vacation with his mother, to Aigio. In the early hours of August 10, Mario’s mother had received a phone call from strangers asking her for 620,000 euros as a ransom, in order to free her child.

The lifer was involved in the case, as a family friend at the time, who convinced the mother not to notify the authorities immediately, and he undertook to take the necessary actions to find the 26-year-old. Along the way, however, it turned out that the friend was the “mastermind” of the whole affair.
