A criminal organization that was active in the trafficking of quantities of cocaine and cannabis in the wider area of ​​Athens and Oropos was dismantled by the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.

In the afternoon and evening hours of Wednesday (24/5), after an organized operation by the above Service in various areas of Attica, -6- members were arrested -as the case may be- for establishing a criminal organization, violation of the legislation on addictive substances and on weapons . They are five citizens (two 27-year-olds, a 28-year-old and two 30-year-olds) and a 28-year-old citizen.

In particular, after investigating information regarding the activity of a criminal group that was active in the trafficking of cocaine, raw and processed cannabis in the wider area of ​​Athens and Oropos, it was achieved, through analysis, cross-checking and verification of evidence, the identification of the members of the criminal organization and certification of its action.

How did they act?

In addition, the role of each of the members of the circuit was ascertained specifically

  • of the 27-year-old as an organizer, responsible for finding the suppliers, receiving and managing the profits and dealing the drugs. He provided guidelines to other members,
  • The 28-year-old, 30-year-old and another 27-year-old in the process of drug trafficking, dividing the areas where they were active,
  • The 28-year-old in the transport of the chief member and
  • of the other 30-year-old in the storage and safekeeping of the drugs in a hiding place (kavaza).

What did the investigations find?

After searches of houses in the areas of Oropos, Petroupoli, Aegaleos, Athens and Agia Varvara, the following were found and confiscated:

  • cocaine -22.9- grams,
  • raw hemp -3- kilograms and -752.5- grams,
  • processed hemp (hash oil) -11- grams,
  • -3- precision electronic devices,
  • a number of nylon packages for dispensing drugs and a roll of film,
  • -5- cartridges,
  • the amount of -1,340- euros and
  • -3- cars
  • In addition, a car used for their transportation was confiscated.

Those arrested are taken to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor.
