Strike are held today Wednesday (14/6) by the hospital doctors (EINAP), claiming, among other things, the reinstatement of the salary regime and the hiring of permanent staff.

The work stoppage will take place from 11:00 to 15:00 at noon on Wednesday, while at 1:00 p.m. they will hold a protest rally at the Ministry of Health.

As stated in her statement EINAP: “The operational problems of public hospitals are growing exponentially with each passing day, while the work overload of the few in relation to the actual needs of the remaining health workers has exceeded the limits of human endurance.

Degradation and abandonment of the NHS for decades has led to the creation of a dystopian environment that has a negative impact on the care provided.

The understaffing, the overall underfunding of the system, the low wages, the flexible labor relations, are not solved by the privatization of hospital functions, nor by the abolition of full and exclusive employment, nor by the announcement of the positions of coordinating directors.

What do hospital doctors claim?

Restore the medical payroll before the unconstitutional cuts of 2012.
Mass recruitment of both doctors and nurses, as well as any other specialties required.
Permanent work, abolition of flexible labor relations.
Actual salary increments of all health workers, 13th and 14th pay, unhealthy work allowance to all health workers.
The laws that privatize the NHS should be repealed.
Bold increase in government funding to hospitals.
Exclusively public, high-quality care for all residents of the country.”
