The President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatosurgery, Laser and Aesthetic Dermatology calls on the Greek dermatologists to purchase the injectable toxin preparations from the pharmacies
On the occasion of the uproar that erupted with the dismantling of a ring that illegally trafficked botox and hyaluronic acid, the President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatosurgery, Laser and Aesthetic Dermatology, Sotiris Theocharis, calls on the Greek dermatologists:
– To procure the preparations of injectable toxins (botulinum toxin), which are drugs and are subject to control procedures by E.O.F., from pharmacies
– To procure medical technology products (medical devices), injectable skin implants, from the official representatives of the specific materials in our country
– Stay away from “street vendors” and “electronic platforms”.
Mr. Theocharis stated: “We are sure that the vast majority of our colleagues follow this tactic. We believe that it is time to open a discussion on the safety of these popular cosmetic procedures with all involved: state, medical associations, medical companies of the specialties involved, pharmaceutical companies, agents and social media, so that in the future we do not experience unpleasant and dangerous for the health of our fellow citizens complications.
