The day before yesterday, the decision of the Three-Member Juvenile Court of Volos for four young people, who in 2019 allegedly brutally exploited the innocence of a disabled minor boy, was damning.

Regarding the incident, the 4 alleged perpetrators were accused of persuading their minor victim to follow them, pretending to be the police, using a patrol car’s beacon to do so.

They then took the victim to a secluded location in the city, where they stripped him of his clothes, beat him, fortunately without injuring him, and humiliated him. At the same time, they even videotaped their actions on a telephone device.

However, the incident was noticed by the police authorities, whose forces rushed to the scene and arrested the 4 young men, but not before the latter tried unsuccessfully to escape.

The four defendants faced prosecution for abduction of a minor with racial characteristics, illegal video recording and transmission of another’s act, violation of authority and disobedience.

The two of them, who have not reached the age of 18, sat on the bench the day before yesterday, while the other two, who in the meantime have reached adulthood, did not appear in the courtroom as the case was heard in their absence.

The last two were found guilty and sentenced to three years of confinement in a special youth detention center, while it was decided to entrust their care to a juvenile curator until they reach the age of 25.

The two defendants who appeared at the hearing were shown more leniency by the court, although they were also found guilty.

As one of them has reportedly shown improvement in his social behavior, is working and staying out of trouble with the Law, he was placed under reformatory measures and placed in the care of a juvenile probation officer until he reaches the age of 25.

A similar sentence was imposed on the second, who is also required to join a therapeutic program of OKANA and to complete his studies at the Gymnasium.
