A waiter was the victim of a beating in Rhodes, as Giorgos Chotzoglou, president of the Panhellenic Federation of Food and Tourism Workers, revealed speaking to SKAI 100.3, on the occasion of the recent incident of a worker in Rhodes who delivered orders almost while swimming

Speaking about the incident of the beating, Mr. Hotzoglou said that it happened in the old town of the island.

As he explained, the waiter worked in a restaurant and because he refused an offer from the owner of a neighboring business to work for him, he was the victim of a beating.

The president of the Labor Center of Rhodes, Panagiotis Englezos, also spoke to ERT about the complaint.

As he said, last night in the old town of Rhodes, a young worker who worked in a restaurant refused the request of the businessman next door to go to work in his own business. “His refusal resulted in the ‘businessman’ sending about 10 people who beat the young man and sent him to the hospital,” says Mr. Englesos.

“On Monday, the employee and the president of the hotel employees and Vice President of the Labor Center, Mr. Thanasis Stamoulis, will visit the Prosecutor to submit all the evidence we have gathered,” concludes Mr. Englezos.
