The mayor of Riga Feraio, Dimitris Nasikas, immediately went to the site, together with deputy mayors and officials of the Municipality, in order to be closely informed about the extinguishing project, in which a strong force of the Fire Department of the 2nd VI.PE participated. with 8 vehicles and 15 firefighters.
In his post, Mr. Nasikas thanked the Commander and the firefighters of the Velestino Fire Department for their operational readiness, who moved immediately and extinguished the fire. Equipment from the Municipality of Riga Feraios also worked to extinguish the fire.
After a conversation with the two owners of the sheepfolds, Mr. Nasikas pledged that after recording the damages, the Municipal Authority will immediately take measures to support them.
