Dozens of firefighters in the area battle the flames overnight to keep the fire front at a safe distance from the refineries. The fire, which started from Kallithea Loutrakiou, moved at great speed towards the beach, while strong winds and drought caused constant rekindling and new outbreaks.

The effort of the firefighting forces is focused on maintaining the fire front on the ridge, at a distance of more than one kilometer from the oil installations.

Earlier, the front appeared to be getting dangerously close to the refineries, prompting the maximum mobilization of firefighting forces at the site. However, with the intervention of ground forces, as well as aerial means, the path of the fire front was stopped and limited to a sufficient distance from the facilities, ensuring their safety.
