Her death Mariannas Vardinogiannis deprives our country of a woman who embodied in the most complete way the concept of contribution to the common good. An example of social responsibility and humanitarian sensitivity, endowed with deep empathy and a spirit open to the demands of the times, she worked with all her strength in the fight against childhood cancer, ensured the safeguarding of children’s rights, bent over the problems of women, showed an inexhaustible interest in the family and motherhood, we came together strongly in dealing with poverty, insufficient education, child abuse and exploitation.

Dealing with the suffering fellow human being on the basis of equality and not from a position of power, he wanted to combat the factors that cause social problems and not simply alleviate them through material benefits. And she managed, with her bright presence and noble action, to become a moral support and a personification of hope for thousands of our fellow citizens.

Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, founder and president of the Foundation for the Child and the Family, which later took her name, and the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “Elpida”, a member of dozens of social and cultural institutions, Marianna Vardinogianni leaves behind a multifaceted and significant work, in the footsteps of the great benefactors of the place.
