Government initiatives for the homeless

At the same time, with the special program “Housing and work”, in cooperation with the local government, provision of housing and municipal work is provided. 600 households are expected to join this program.
In addition, the Recovery Fund includes a special program of OAED for 10,000 unemployed people who face significant obstacles to their integration or reintegration into the labor market, with a total budget of 111 million euros. Beneficiaries will be the unemployed who belong to these socially vulnerable groups with a monthly salary subsidy and contributions of 700-750 euros.
It is emphasized, finally, that the population hosted in homeless structures (December 2021) is 630 people, while 76 are in the process of admission. In the corresponding period, a year ago, it was 732 and 59 respectively. Of the 630 guests, 525 are vaccinated and 19 are in the process of being vaccinated.
