The five Croatians were aged 25, 41, 29, 25 and 31
Five more Croatians were arrested yesterday in Thesprotia, for the murder of the 29-year-old in New Philadelphia, as they were trying to escape to Italy when the police found them.
The Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy announced that yesterday, in the evening hours, officers of the Security Office of the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa proceeded to arrest five Croats during a check carried out at the port of Igoumenitsa.
The five men were ready to take the ship bound for the port of Bari in Italy, but in the end they failed to justify the reason and duration of their stay in the country. They stated that they were on vacation in Greece and are returning to their country without any luggage.
The five Croats were aged 25, 41, 29, 25 and 31 and were considered suspects for their possible involvement in the incidents. Thus, the Igoumenitsa Security Directorate was notified and they were handed over to the police in order to be brought to the Igoumenitsa Police Department.
On Wednesday morning, the arrest was turned into an arrest as the investigations during the night revealed that they were indeed involved in the bloody incidents in New Philadelphia.
