The National Pharmaceutical Organization (EOF) has decided to ban the distribution and distribution of the food supplement GRANUS MEN’S UP, because it contains the medicinal substance SILDENAFIL, which is a pharmaceutical active substance, without the product having a medicinal product license. In addition, the product has not been evaluated in terms of its safety and effectiveness by the EOF.
Instead, the product is marketed as a food supplement, notified to the EOF and the above substance is not listed on the label. In addition, the above food supplement contains the unapproved substance Epimedium, which has been designated as a novel food by EFSA. It is recalled that for nutritional supplements containing the substance Epimedium, the EOF has withdrawn them (decision 103781/12.10.2018).
This decision is issued in the context of the protection of Public Health. The company must immediately contact the recipients of the product and withdraw it from the market within a reasonable period of time.
