Scenes taken from a police action film unfolded yesterday afternoon on the streets of Pelion.

According to the local media, a 33-year-old car driver did not stop at a police signal, as a result of which the chase began.

The young man was moving dangerously at high speed from Neohori, passed through Promyri and ended up at his home in Lafkos, where the police finally arrested him.

In fact, he “invaded” the cobblestones of the village with his vehicle, while tourists, visitors and small children were there.

Shortly after 19.00 in the afternoon, the police handcuffed him and the man was arrested.

The assailant was immobilized, resisting vigorously, slightly injuring a police officer in the hand.

A case file was filed against him for violence against officials and judicial persons, disloyalty, dangerous driving and violation of the Road Traffic Code.

Three fine syringes were found and confiscated in the vehicle, of which two were empty and one was used, and in addition, carefully hidden in the trunk of the vehicle, pieces of copper wire and various other copper components were seized, weighing a total of approximately 20 kilograms, the origin of which is being investigated.
The arrested person will be taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Volos, while the preliminary investigation is carried out by the South Pelion Police Department.
