As part of the operational action of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Human Trafficking of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, police officers of the Anti-Trafficking and Human Trafficking Department carried out targeted checks in order to identify potential victims.

During the checks, they found a brothel in the area of ​​Sphagia, operating illegally, without the relevant license. The 26-year-old local manager of the business was arrested.

In addition, it was established that a 28-year-old Romanian woman, lacking a certificate of professional practice, was living inside the house, whose income from her activity was received by the arrested woman on behalf of a 61-year-old man, returning part of it to her and keeping a sum of money for her as a fee for providing assistance in her sexual exploitation by her accomplice.

During the investigation of the premises of the business, a video recorder with a transformer connected to the internet was found, which monitored and recorded, remotely, the premises, customers and employees, in violation of the legislation for the protection of natural persons against the processing of personal data.
