According to pensioners aged between 65-74, 73% use the Internet and new technologies
With a multitude of modern electronic services that are now provided exclusively for pensioners, through the www.efka.gov.gr website, e-EFKA improves the level of service for citizens and, in particular, for the elderly, who, according to in recent years and, above all, after the health crisis, they have come closer to the digital world through a multitude of applications and uses.
The advantages
The online services for pensioners offer immediate processing of their requests, speed in the submission of requests and 24-hour information on issues that concern them as candidates or active pensioners. In addition, they replaced time-consuming, bureaucratic procedures, which caused inconvenience and delays in the implementation of their transactions with the agency.
In fact, as e-EFKA points out, latest surveys show that 73% of people between the ages of 65-74 use the Internet and new technologies.
Electronic services
According to e-EFKA, one of the important electronic services is Digital Communication Room, through which the prospective pensioner can submit electronically the necessary supporting documents for the award of his pension and have a direct conversation with the rapporteur of his file, in order to be informed about the progress of the processing of his request, as well as to attach any supporting documents, pending, to continue the award process.
For vulnerable social groupslike the candidate disability pensioners, the Digital KEPAs contributed to simplifying the disability certification process, through digitalization, facilitated the daily life of hundreds of thousands of disabled people and shortened the time for issuing the relevant decision.
An upgrade in the level of their service was also seen by pensioners mainly from remote areas, through myefkalive, who no longer need to visit the local services of the organization, but it is enough to make a teleconference/video call, by appointment, with an e-EFKA employee for the processing their specific request.
Eliminating the suffering of the elderly and vulnerable social groups also meant electronic appointments, which have now become permanent, after the health crisis, achieving the elimination of long-hour delays and queues at branch counters, which can be seen from the millions of appointments that are closed monthly to the institution.
At the same time, as reported by e-EFKA, on the 1555.gov.gr website or at the 1555 telephone center, pensioners (candidates/active) now find an “edge” in their queries/requests with personalized information, without wasting time or money, to go to the competent e-EFKA services.
Already, more than 2.5 million calls from citizens about issues of the agency’s competence have been answered, while 99.4% of them have been resolved.
