The attempted murder that took place last Monday (21/8) in the area of ​​Agios Panteleimons against a 26-year-old Algerian was solved.

For the case, four foreigners have been identified for their involvement, one of whom was arrested, while a case file was filed against them for attempted homicide with complicity, as well as for violating the weapons legislation.

Regarding the timeline of the case, the incident took place on the evening of August 21 at the junction of Acharnon and Kymi streets, where, according to the Police, at least 4 people got out of 2 vehicles and approached the 26-year-old, and one of them shot at him without to injure him.

The perpetrators then attacked the victim with punches and kicks, while one of them inflicted physical injuries on him with a sharp object and with homicidal intent in various parts of his body.

As pointed out by ELAS, police officers from the DIAS Team went to the scene, who, knowing first aid and applying bandages to the victim’s wounds, managed to keep him alive, before he was transferred to a hospital, where he is still being treated.

During the autopsy of the place where the attack took place, a lot of evidence was found and confiscated, which has been sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory tests.

Specifically, the following were found and seized:

-14 calyxes,

– falsetto,

-mobile phone and

a black purse that contained a wallet with the amount of 97.40 euros, a house key, a pack of cigarettes, an earphone with a case and a lighter.

Following information and data obtained from the preliminary investigation, a joint operation was carried out in Athens and Thessaloniki, in the presence of a judicial officer, with the assistance of police officers from the Special Suppression Anti-Terrorist Unit of Thessaloniki, during which the arrested foreigner was located in a hotel in Thessaloniki.

Searches followed in houses and hotel rooms, where in total the following were found and confiscated:

-2 I.X.E. cars, as means of committing the attack,

-improvised nylon packaging containing cannabis, with a total gross weight of 4.9 grams,

-9 mobile phones,

-2 sharp metal objects for breaking crystals and a knife in a case,

-4 gold neck chains, 2 gold rings and a gold bracelet,

-27 tablets of an unknown substance in a glass container,

-16 medicinal tablets in a sealed package,

– the sum of 25 euros,

-various documents, ferry tickets, bank card and clothes.

As part of the investigations, 2 foreigners and one Greek were identified, who were arrested for violating the drug legislation.

The arrested persons, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
