The special O Melhor de São Paulo Gastronomia – Restaurantes, Bares e Cuisine brings a selection of more than 900 places to eat and drink in the city, presented according to their specialty and with information about the neighborhoods in which they are located.

In addition to the selection, the project highlights winners elected by the specialized jury and highlights the opinion of city residents through a Datafolha survey, which draws up a list of the best addresses in São Paulo according to São Paulo residents.

AMADEUS

The Masano family has been delivering good quality fish and seafood since 1987. Many of these ingredients come from Florianópolis, are produced in-house and arrive live in São Paulo. For starters, the suggestion is to share the oysters (R$69) or order the scallop with vanilla-scented chive cream (R$78). Among the main dishes, one of the orders is the commander’s stew, which includes fish loin, shrimp, squid, clams, octopus and seafood in a tomato sauce with herbs (R$ 189 for an individual, R$ 355 for two people).

BADAUÊ

The restaurant has two units on the north coast of São Paulo, one in Juquehy and another in Maresias. The extensive menu practiced at these addresses is repeated in the capital. In it, there are moquecas to share, as well as shrimp and other seafood. Fish such as hake-branca appear in different preparations, such as the version in which the whole fish is grilled on banana leaves, stuffed with banana farofa and capers and accompanied by white rice and pirão (R$ 220).

PIER

Adriano de Laurentiis takes care of the kitchen and Guilherme Giraldi, the service and wines. The two are responsible for creating the restaurant in Vila Madalena, which seeks to make full use of the ingredients. One of the options that follows this spirit is fish fin prepared on the grill (R$96). But the flagship is the grilled squid with garlic cream and house bread (R$87). For vegetarians, there is leek au gratin with smoked ricotta (R$59).

CAMEROON

Originally from Natal (RN), it reproduces recipes that are successful there, but also has exclusive options. Be that as it may, most of the preparations, of course, have shrimp as the star. It appears at the entrance in a caprese version with pesto, tomato sauce and parmesan foam (R$ 41). For two people, Bonfim has the crustacean sautéed in backland butter with red onion, tomato, cashew nuts, pout pepper, roasted coalho cheese and coriander, with vatapá risotto (R$ 149).

SEA BARBECUE

Rescuing the atmosphere of a beach restaurant on Avenida Rebouças under the command of chef Dário Costa, who participated in Masterchef Professionals and Mestre do Sabor. To share, there is oyster with mango vinaigrette (R$45) and fish bait breaded in cornmeal (R$58). Octopus, crayfish and white hake are among the items on the grill (from R$45).

COCONUT BAMBOO

The house started as a pastry shop in 1989 in Fortaleza (CE) and opened the first restaurant in 2001. Today, there are more than 70 units in the country. On the menu is the grilled lobster Coco Bambu, accompanied by Sicilian lemon risotto, potatoes and herb butter (R$ 365 for two people). The octopus stew, also for sharing, has bell pepper, tomato sauce and octopus juice; it is accompanied by rice and noisette potatoes (R$ 171).

DALM BÁRBARO

The roadside spot where portions of seafood and fried bananas with cinnamon stood out later became a restaurant in Guarujá and São Paulo. The flagship of the São Paulo unit is the special scarpa, a fillet of cambucu hake grilled in a butter and caper sauce, accompanied by sautéed potatoes and laminated heart of palm (R$ 335 for four people). The fried banana with sugar and cinnamon, served with ice cream (R$24), is still on the menu.

MUSSEL

Founded in 1970, it is located among the Italian canteens in Bexiga. It has been run by the same chef, the French Mirka Helene, since its inception. For starters, the coquilles Saint Jacques, a shell that combines squid and prawns au gratin in a white sauce (R$35), arrive at the table. Calamari fried (R$68) or breaded (R$68) and spaghetti in tomato sauce with clams (R$89.90) are main options.

PETISKIN DO BOB

The name refers to the Minas Gerais accent, but the restaurant has more feet in the sea than in the land of cheese. Among the appetizers, the highlights are shrimp pastries (R$42.90, six units) and ceviche à moda Bob (R$63.90). For those who want to overcome the barrier of nibbles, options are grilled octopus, accompanied by broccoli rice and colored potatoes (R$ 153.90, two people), or the sailor’s rice, with squid, shrimp and yellow hake (R$ $92.90).

RUFINO’S

Born in Guarujá, where it has been operating since the 1970s, it arrived in the capital twenty years later, with points in Itaim and the Morumbi mall. The kitchen makes classic preparations, such as hake fillet à belle meunière, with caper sauce plus green beans and sautéed potatoes (R$145). The spaghetti à vongole (R$195) serves two people.
