Patoulis to SKAI: I will not tolerate them constantly showing the Region for the mistakes of others

Angry intervention of George Patoulis on SKAI TV and the show Unmatched for the responsibilities blamed on the Attica Region after the chaos created in the streets of the Basin due to bad weather “Hope”.

“I will not tolerate them constantly showing the Region and the local government for the mistakes of others”, “we have heard enough and to tell the truth at last”, “will anyone come out to apologize? “Who is the person in charge who has to say sorry, he knows very well”, were some of the most characteristic expressions of the Regional Governor.

Mr. Patoulis said that the Region is only one of the links of Civil Protection that is the responsibility of the central state and had the courage to close schools on Monday at a time when the state did not close public services.

If the District did not decide to close the schools, we would mourn people, we would have parents who would be in despair. “I did not hear anyone say it with courage,” he said.

He added that if Monday had been declared a holiday, there would have been no problem.

According to Mr. Patoulis, when the public services were closed, a number of vehicles were found on the streets without chains in an urban area in the middle of a snowstorm, while at the same time the movement of heavy vehicles on the highway had been stopped since 8.30.

In particular, he stated that at 12.30 while there was heavy snowfall, thousands of cars were circulating on the streets, Attiki Odos was blocked, Ethniki pushed the heavy vehicles in while public and private companies were closed, thus blocking the other roads. With Kifissias and Mesogeion full of cars, he wondered how there would be snowfall from the region.
