The new and advanced Kimon-class FDI frigates, according to Naval Group’s schedule, will be delivered in a very short time, starting from 2025 for the first two surface units “KIMON” and “NEARCHOS” and in 2026 for the third “FORMION” frigate.
It is recalled that the official launching ceremony of the first Greek frigate Belharra (FDI HN) named “Kimon – F 601” will take place on Wednesday October, presence of the political and military leadership of the Armed Forces.
The defense ministers of Greece and France as well as the head of the General Assembly will be present at the ceremony, while, although it has not yet been confirmed, the Greek prime minister is also expected to attend Kyriakos Mitsotakis and French President Emmanuel Macron.
