Three (3) minors, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old foreigner and a 16-year-old local, were arrested on 6-11-2021, in the framework of a coordinated operation by police officers of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate, accused of being members of a minor gang. Four (4) additional members of the gang were identified.
A criminal case was filed against them for the crimes of the criminal organization (gang), attempted homicide by conspiracy, robbery by conspiracy, attempted infliction of grievous bodily harm by conspiracy and continuous violation of the law on weapons. In addition, the 15-year-old and the 16-year-old are accused of disobedience.
In particular, the pre-investigation investigation revealed that the above defendants had formed and joined a criminal group (gang) with constant action and discriminatory roles.
They had a specific name and a specific structure, at the top of which, as a leader and organizer of attacks, was the 17-year-old arrested.
As for the perpetrator, the criminal group operated mainly in the center of Athens and more specifically in the areas of Agios Panteleimon, Sepolia and Kolonos.
Each attack was aimed at removing the victims’ personal belongings as well as showing strength and superiority, either by inflicting bodily harm or by removing clothing.
Through a group chat on a social networking page, the attacks were organized and the movements of each member were determined (preparatory actions, etc.).
Their attacks were always based on their numerical superiority, in order to ensure their result, while they carried on them a number of sharp objects, which made their action extremely dangerous.
In addition, for reasons of gang strength, they videotaped most of their attacks.
From the pre-investigation investigation, the accused were identified and their criminal activity was certified in:
Attack – attempted murder, committed in a school complex in the center of Athens, against two (2) minors during which one of them was seriously injured by a sharp object, in case of robbery,
-3- cases of assaults on minors, some of which took place inside school complexes
The arrested were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor.
