The polls open at 07:00 for the repeat elections in 84 municipalities and 6 regions of the country.

Municipal and regional elections are held until 19:00 in the same polling stations, with the same election commissions and the same judicial representatives.

The total number of polling stations in these elections is 12,966, while in the first round it was 22,722.

Information on the address of the polling station where 5,641,683 Greek citizens and 18,760 EU citizens who live permanently in Greece vote today is made through the electronic platform “Learn where you are voting” on the website of the Ministry of the Interior https://mpp.ypes.gov .gr/ which is also accessible from gov.gr. Relevant information is also provided by the telephone line 2131361500, as well as by the local KEP and the municipalities.

A total of 15,060 ballot boxes will be used for voting.

The identification of voters for the exercise of their right to vote is based on their police identity card (printed or digital) or the relevant temporary certificate from the competent authority or their passport or driver’s license or the individual health book of all insurance funds. It is noted that any “cut” ID cards, as well as an expired Greek passport, are acceptable. The military and those serving in the security forces should present their military or service IDs.

In order to serve citizens when exercising their right to vote, the Authorities issuing identity cards are open today until 19:00.

After the exercise of the right to vote and if requested by the voter, he is given a printed certificate of exercise of the right to vote, signed and sealed by the president of the electoral committee.

In the areas where both elections are held, the voters come to the screen first for the municipality and after casting the ballot in the corresponding ballot box, they return for the district vote.

In the repeat elections, the voter does not mark a preference cross, since the vote is repeated only between the regional governor candidates or the mayoral candidates of the two combinations that collected the most votes during last Sunday’s vote. However, ballots with preference crosses count as valid, while crosses are not taken into account.
