Private individuals expect to find an unspeakable buried treasure in Argos and for the second time they got permission from the state to carry out excavations.
Since the morning of Tuesday, October 17, excavators have been searching for the treasure in a stream near the “Malachia junction”, on the Argos-Koutsopodi road.
The same group of private individuals had requested an excavation in a nearby area four years ago, in October 2019, without any result.
The necessary permits were granted by the competent services, with a technical staff and the presence of employees of the DOU, the Land Service, Archeology and Argos Security. If there is no result, the excavation will not continue for the next few days.
In case the treasure is found, private individuals will get 50% and the State the rest.
According to information they are looking for pounds of England that they believe are hidden since the 2nd World War, an elderly man’s testimony said that many years ago the English had searched for them in the same place.
