The information and awareness program for recycling in schools carried out by THE GREEN CITY recycling promotion and reward program with the support of PPC has been completed for this year
With the participation of more than 100,000 primary and secondary school students, the information and awareness program for recycling in schools carried out by THE GREEN CITY recycling promotion and reward program with the support of PPC was completed for this year.
The trainers of the program visited more than 650 schools in the Attica Region and spoke to the students about environmental issues, while through interactive discussions, the students learned about recycling and its importance and the possibility to recycle separated materials of 8 categories by placing them in the respective bins .
After the briefing, the students could give their recyclables to the special recycling vehicle. The recyclables were weighed and the points collected, based on the type and weight of each material, were credited to a school account. They could then be redeemed for gift vouchers, either through the Parents and Guardians Association or through the Head of School. PPC executives also contributed to the information on the benefits and effects of recycling. At the end of the program, which received many positive comments from students and teachers, the students received recycling toys and caskets made from recycled materials.
PPC supported the educational program in THE GREEN CITY schools because it believes that the new generation deserves to grow up in a sustainable and green world. Sustainability and corporate responsibility are a central element of PPC’s business activity. That is why it will continue to support the educational activity and the new school year that started in Attica.
PPC will continue to support actions to raise awareness, inform and activate all citizens, with an emphasis on the younger ages, believing that the cultivation of environmental awareness and responsible and active participation in actions for the environment is a key component for Sustainable Development.
