An 8-year-old girl and her family experienced terror when a stranger tried to put her in his car.

According to ERT, the man was near a playground in Magoula on Friday afternoon when tried to grab the 8-year-old, telling her to get into his car to move her “a little further down”the girl’s mother said.

“The child when the car stopped did not understand at first that it was a stranger. When the particular man stopped, he directly told her “come to me, don’t be afraid”. The child did not understand at first and took some steps towards him. Since the child saw that it was a stranger and when he said to her “come let me throw you down, come with me, come to me”, the child started to take steps backwards, he did not speak and said with his head he said “No , I don’t want to come with you”. He was telling her “Come, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid”. He evidently realized that the child had been frightened, and when the child began to take steps backwards, he says “Fine, don’t come, I’ll come to you”. And he made the move to get out of the car. The child reacted immediately, running against the car towards the playground to avoid catching her, because the car was facing the house. She found the first adult and told directly what happened and to escort her home because she was very scared. The child was very frightened. She was shaking all over. He could not directly explain to us what happened, nor tell us who this man was. And after a couple of hours he started to explain to us his features, which are very intense” complains the mother and continues:

“He has curly hair, dark skin, myopic glasses, decayed teeth, he was stout. He was around 50-60, as the child called him grandfather. He wasn’t Roma, the child told us.”

Finally, the woman reports that she has seen a man with these characteristics before moving suspiciously in the neighborhood while reporting that after the post he made on Facebook to inform the residents of the area about the incident, he received a threatening phone call from an unknown number.

“We must have seen him before in the area. Maybe once or twice for sure, because we are a closed society and unknown people make an impression on us.”
