In terms of their modus operandi, it is estimated that when they put some of the villas in the “frame”, they made sure to monitor every movement early on and always discreetly.
Not even … a Cretan tracker would have detected the stolen goods that had been unloaded on a slope of the connecting road between Hersonissos and Stalida, members of the spiral that he had committed in the summer, as we wrote earlier, piles of burglaries in luxurious villas where well-to-do tourists resided.
And yet police officers of the A.T. Chersonisou managed, by “tracking” the area, to locate, at a distance of about half a kilometer from the villa that the burglars had broken into, some stolen items. They were mainly electronic devices (e.g. very expensive laptops) which were of no concern to the perpetrators since they aimed exclusively at money and jewellery.
They seem to have been in sack-voyage, which they grabbed in their haste, and when they were now away and felt safe, they disposed of it.
But they miscalculated as police officers who “swept” the area in a wide radius, found the stolen items and sent them for laboratory analysis to the forensics of Athens.
And the results “spoke”.
DNA of a 32-year-old Albanian was detected in these items, who has been involved since his involvement in a notorious spiral that hit villas in Mykonos.
The same person, however, is said to have been identified in a series of videos that recorded the movements of the perpetrator(s) in the burglaries that took place during the summer in Hersonissos and Stalida.
In most cases, it was the 32-year-old who “broke” into the villas, but in some there appears to be a second perpetrator who actively participates in the “invasions”. However, it is estimated that in all the burglaries a third perpetrator was also involved who had the role of “chiliadoro”.
The same information states that the burglars, in order to “take off the nail”, were dressed casually, i.e. they were pretending to be tourists.
Their facial features were uncovered.
In terms of their modus operandi, it is estimated that when they put some of the villas in the “frame”, they made sure to monitor every movement early on and always discreetly.
When it was now evening, usually after 9, and the tenants were leaving for their exit, they took action.
