A 67-year-old man was arrested in Gargalianoi accused of shooting a stray dog with a shotgun and injuring it.
The incident happened on Friday morning when citizens informed the authorities that a shot had been heard and there was a dog injured in a neighborhood of the city.
The animal was taken to a veterinarian where it was found that it had shrapnel in its body.
Police officers of A.T. Gargalianon arrested a 67-year-old o who is accused of injuring the dog, he was charged with the specific offense in accordance with the law “New framework for the welfare of companion animals – Program “ARGOS” and other provisions”, as well as for the use of the weapon, while by order of the prosecutor he was released.
However, he was fined 30,000 euros for injuring the dog, he was also fined 2,600 euros under the same law for a dog he owned that did not meet the legal requirements.
