Vaccination certificate: “End of time” tomorrow for those who have been vaccinated with 2 doses and have closed 7 months

by

“End of time” on Monday for those who have been vaccinated with two doses and have closed 7 months. Adults who have been vaccinated in two doses and have passed 7 months until February 7, should have taken the booster dose, otherwise from tomorrow will be counted as unvaccinated and will not have the appropriate privileges of access indoors.

An estimated 300,000 are those who, seven months after the second dose, did not proceed to the third.

The Ministry of Health had announced a small extension of one week at the end of the certificate, due to problems in the execution of vaccination appointments on snowy days.

The Minister of Health Thanos Plevris stated that “due to the fact that in bad weather many of our fellow citizens who had scheduled their appointment for vaccination could not be vaccinated, the validity of the certificate is extended from January 31 to February 7”.

Recently, the method of issuing the disease certificate has changed. Vaccinated people must have a positive rapid test to issue a disease certificate, while unvaccinated people need a positive PCR molecular test to issue a disease certificate.

Moreover, from tomorrow, Monday 7 February, those travelers who have an active European certificate – valid for 9 months – will not be required to perform rapid or PCR tests cto enter Greece. The measure concerns the vaccinated, while for those who have not been vaccinated, what was valid applies: they must have a negative test to enter the country.

In a statement, the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris stated on ERT that “from Monday, February 7, the entry into the country, for those who have an active European certificate, will be done without a mandatory test”.

Until today, Sunday, February 6, all those who traveled to Greece, had to have a negative molecular test that has been performed within 72 hours or to have been diagnosed negative in a rapid test 24 hours before their arrival in Greece.

Also, from tomorrow, Monday, February 7, the existing measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus remain in force for another week (until Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6:00). As of January 31st, the opening hours of restaurants and entertainment venues were released, music was allowed again, however these venues are obliged to operate only with seated distances and a maximum of 6 people per table. Entrance to catering and entertainment is still allowed only to fully vaccinated and those who have been ill for the last 3 months.

For additional relaxation of the measures asked the pediatric professor V. Papaevangelou in the recent briefing at the Ministry of Health. He replied that “there is already talk about how we will weigh the pros and cons whether it will start (additional relaxation) what we as a Commission will suggest. If we are ready to suggest some relaxation, where to start. Because on the one hand we see in front of us with optimism that there will be a gradual de-escalation in the National Health System, on the other hand there is a very large dispersion, a very large volume of active cases. “140,000 of our fellow human beings currently have the virus and can potentially transmit it, at least some of them.”

So he wants to think, he added, noting that most people are vaccinated and need to relax. “We see other European countries relaxing (the measures). We must put all these on a scale, the pros and cons, not to give wrong messages “concluded Mrs. Papaevangelou.
