The President of the Republic, as part of her visit to Switzerland, met yesterday with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in Chambésy.
The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulouas part of her visit to Switzerland, met yesterday with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in Chambésy.
Responding to the Patriarch’s address, the President of the Republic emphasized:
“It is with great joy that I meet you today, Your Holiness, at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, a spiritual nursery for the study of Christian tradition and teaching, which promotes and cultivates interfaith and Orthodox dialogue.”
At the same time, he reiterated the great interest of the Greek State towards the Ecumenical Throne, as well as the respect, love and gratitude that the entire nation has for the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Patriarchate and added: “On the occasion of the upcoming 50th anniversary of your priesthood, which you will celebrate on Christmas day, I wish you a long life, health and strength, for the continuation of your so important mission”.
Afterwards, Ms. Sakellaropoulou was guided by Swiss Metropolitan Maximos to the Center’s facilities and to the Holy Church of Apostolos Pavlos.
The President of the Republic attended a reception given at the consular residence in her honor, in the presence of the Ecumenical Patriarch and Greek expatriates, the consul general of Greece, Alexandros Gennimatas.
