The anger of one family and more was caused by an incident that took place yesterday morning at the Rhodes hospital, when an 85-year-old woman with a stroke, who had been hospitalized for three days at the Rhodes hospital, was discharged and had to go home.

As her family reported, the adventure of their 85-year-old mother began when they were discharged from the cardiology clinic and had to take her to the village of Salakos where they lived.

“My mother was admitted to the hospital with arrhythmias – her son told “Rodiaki”. He has suffered a stroke. The doctors and nursing staff of our hospital’s cardiology department did everything people could and we thank them for that.

When we dropped her off with the stroller at the entrance, we asked the authorities to call an ambulance to take her home. But we were told that there is no ambulance for such incidents!

We thought that something like this couldn’t be true and we took it 166 and ECAV. Then, we were told that such a transfer cannot be made. We were told about strike and various such that do not concern us. Some others advised us to call a private ambulance and pay. We tried but we were told from there too that it was not available for yesterday.

We were in despair! How to put a woman of such age and with such a condition in a conventional car;

So, we had to take our mother in the commercial car – cage, after we put a rough layer on the back! All this is unacceptable and third world. And for this reason we are making the complaint public. To find a solution. And may another patient never find himself in our position again.

We wish happy holidays to the whole world and good enlightenment to those who need it”.
