“Regret” said the 16 year old where killed his father with multiple stab wounds in their home in Kalyvia, apologizing to the Juvenile investigator, adding that “I feel relief.. me and my family are no longer afraid” referring to extreme incidents of violence experienced by the victim over a number of years.

The investigator and the prosecutor agreed, after the minor’s apology of just a few minutes, that the accused of manslaughter against his father should be released without the imposition of restrictive conditions. The boy was ordered to be supervised by a probation officer, as required by the Juvenile Defendants Act.

The 16-year-old allegedly told the judicial officer that he was experiencing systematic abuse from his father, reportedly telling her: “What I did is bad. I regret it as an act. I feel relief, I am freed. I and my family are no longer afraid.” The defendant seems to have recounted to the judicial officer incidents of extreme violence against him and against his mother and brother, which to a large extent seem to confirm witnesses who testified earlier to the Juvenile investigator.

The court official, according to information, took statements before the boy’s pleaby relatives – including his mother and brother – who asked to testify in the defense of the 16-year-old, confirming what the juvenile perpetrator of the crime claims.

According to reports, the case file includes evidence of the abuse reported by the 16-year-old.

On the side of the child, in view of his apology, other members of the family circle as well as the friendly environment of the family were present early in the courts, apart from his mother and brother.
