The swearing-in of the re-elected Regional Governor of Central Greece Fanis Spanos and the members of the Regional Council for the new term was completed a little while ago in the packed Municipal Theater of Lamia.

The Minister of State, Mr. Makis Voridis, conveying the message of the Prime Minister in his brief greeting, underlined the different landscape that the Regional Authority is now called upon to serve. In fact, he determined that the landscape is completely different compared to the one that existed from 2019 until now.

At the same time, Mr. Voridis identified the high expectations for the level of cooperation set by the government and noted that “..by 2024 the local government codes will be ready” and as he underlined “for the first time the local government will it has all the legislation gathered in order to be able to better cope with its work”.

Makis Voridis also noted that “at the same time, the mechanism of distribution of responsibilities through multi-level governance is being activated”.

In fact, addressing the Regional Governor, he meaningfully said that “My friend Fanis, my Regional Governor, we have before us very important and useful work to do together… We are all here to help support your effort”.

“To thank you that on the foundations of 2014 you entrusted us with 2019 with a choice of hope. Together we built our first floor in the house where we housed joys and sorrows, crises and conquests, the coronavirus and natural disasters, but also the large infrastructure projects, the important new investments, the dense and strong social protection index” the re-elected Regional Governor Mr. Fanis Spanos began his speech by making a journey through the events from 2014 until now to add meaningfully that “more gratitude, however, than ever, we owe you today. Today we are here, no longer thanks to the hope you invested in our message, but thanks to the trust you showed in our self-governing proposal, now having a tangible image of our ethos, style and work”

Fanis Spanos made reference to 4 pillars that determine the path, speaking of ethics and style, of democratic perception, modesty, honesty to complete that “the passion of the amateur, but also the seriousness of the professional will characterize our every word and every action ».

Fanis Spanos referred to cooperation as a second pillar, defining open dialogue and cooperation with all “the agencies, with the living and active society. With absolute respect for everyone’s role, with vindictiveness, but also with mutual understanding of goals and efforts for the common good” as he said.

As the 3rd pillar he mentioned “hard work” saying “hard work in the small and the big, in the easy and the difficult. So that no opportunity goes to waste, so that we don’t leave any battle uncontested.”

Fanis Spanos mentioned love as the 4th pillar. “Simply and without degenerately analyzing it. Pure, unadulterated love for our country and its people. The love that “always endures, always believes, always hopes, always endures. The love that never fails” he said addressing the Most Blessed Archbishop who was present at the Swearing.

Previously, the Metropolitan of Fthiotida Mr. Simeon in the short greeting, speaking on behalf of the other bishops of Central Greece who were present, noted that “on behalf of all of us, I submit our prayers, our love, our disposition for loving cooperation. All of you, without exception, are chosen, dear pamphleteers, and we will cooperate both when we agree and when we disagree, because cooperation means cooperating with diversity, otherness and uniqueness, without losing your identity”

The Swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Archbishop Hieronymos, the Metropolitans of Chalkidos, Istiaia and Northern Sporades Mr. Chrysostomos, Thebes, Levadeia and Avlis Mr. George, Mr. Karpenisiou Mr. George, the Theophilist Bishop of Skopelos Mr. Nikodimos, as well as the representative of the Metropolitan Phokidos the Archim.
