Alexis Haritsis discussed with residents and agencies, listened and highlighted the problems and needs, while performing an autopsy on the affected areas.
A visit to the affected areas of Thessaly, with the first stop being western Thessaly and areas that were at the center of the disaster a few months ago, was carried out today by the president of the New Left Parliamentary Group, Alexis Haritsis, together with MPs.
Alexis Haritsis discussed with residents and agencies, listened and highlighted the problems and needs, while conducting an autopsy on the affected areas.
The visit started in Palamas and will end in Larissa, where there will be a meeting with the new governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas.
At the town hall of the Municipality of Farkadona, Mr. Haritsis made the following statement:
“The new year has found our fellow citizens realizing that new increases await them in their electricity tariffs. Unfortunately, the government is fooling Greek society, and trying to hide the truth with various tricks such as colorful invoices. The bottom line is that we have a wholesale electricity market, which is the most expensive in all of Europe, precisely because it operates in oligopolistic terms, it operates in cartel terms. This is an achievement within quotes of the Mitsotakis government. What needs to be done is a serious effort, a government effort to de-escalate the electricity tariffs that are currently tormenting the Greek economy, tormenting Greek society.”
