The student was hospitalized for brain death at the Venizelio hospital of Heraklion
Unfortunately, the fatal thing happened to her 17-year-old who was hospitalized since December 7, 2023 in the Intensive Care Unit at Venizelio hospital, after the allergic shock she suffered.
According to Cretalive information, the natural death of the young lady occurred yesterday after 31 days of fighting to keep alive but unfortunately she did not succeed.
It is reminded that the 17-year-old was in Heraklion for a school trip, having come from Peristeri, Athens. Early in the morning of Sunday, December 7, the girl ate bread and butter during breakfast at the hotel where they were staying in Ammoudara, Heraklion.
Immediately the student, who was allergic to dairy products, went into allergic shock and went to her room where she injected adrenaline. The teachers found her unconscious in the hotel room and informed EKAB whose rescuers rushed, picked up the girl and took her to the emergency hospital.
There the doctors followed the medical protocol and after CPR efforts they managed to bring her back to life. However, as confirmed by the Director of the ICU at the Venizelio hospital, Mr. Anestis Kioulpalis, the 17-year-old was brain dead as of January 2, 2024.
