A new wave of bad weather with locally strong effects, snowfall at low altitudes and gale force winds on Tuesday 9 January
A barometric low from the South Ionian, moving east will cause another wave of bad weather from the evening hours of Monday 8 Januarybut mainly her Tuesday, January 9, with rain and locally strong storms mainly in southern partswhile at the same time the descent of cold air masses combined with the movement of the barometric low, will cause snowfall at low altitudes mainly in the north-east of the country.
Specifically, according to the available forecast data of meteo.gr/National Observatory of Athens, for Monday 08/01 the rainfall in the west in the afternoon hours will intensify and gradually extend to the east, affecting the Peloponnese, the islands of the South and East Aegean until the night hours. Local rains are expected in the rest of the country.
During Tuesday 09/01, rains and local storms will occur mainly in the eastern and southern partswith the phenomena being strongly in the Cyclades, Crete, the islands of the Eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese and the Southern Peloponnese.
Snowfall will occur in the mountainous and semi-mountainous parts of Macedonia, Thessaly and possibly Eviaas well as in areas of Thrace and the islands of the Northeast Aegean with low altitude.
