“My client does not accept that he had homicidal intent and does not accept that he was in a calm state of mind,” said the lawyer of the 50-year-old father, Michalis Vasilikos
The 50-year-old father who killed his brother-in-law after learning that he had been raping his daughter since she was 9 is in a tragic situation, his lawyer Michalis Vasilikos told SKAI and the ‘SIMERA’ show on Thursday morning.
“My client does not accept that he had homicidal intent and does not accept that he was in a calm state of mind,” Mr. Vasilikos added.
About ‘I’ll take care of it’ which the 50-year-old father reportedly said after the sexual abuse suffered by his daughter was revealed, he clarified that he did not mean to ‘take his life away’.
“The father and daughter came to my office on Monday to discuss the outcome of the matter, before the father found out who the rapist was, after constant pressure, on Tuesday morning, the 18-year-old showed the messages to her father and then learned that the rapist and blackmailer was his brother-in-law. By the word ‘settle’ he did not mean to take his life,” he said
“When I was informed of the incident, I immediately advised him to notify the authorities and then surrender,” said the lawyer of the 50-year-old father.
“The 18-year-old is in a very bad psychological state”
“The child was in a very bad psychological state when I saw him, from the age of 9 he was sexually harassed and from the age of 12 to 14 the rapes took place, with the younger brother in the house, their parents were working, the uncle he had free access,” added Mr. Vassilikos and added, “When he needed money, he started blackmailing the girl that she would make public the material he had in his possession.”
