The police are continuing their investigation into the murder of Babis Koutsikos, as they believe that it is rather unlikely that the 51-year-old butcher managed to approach the area where the body of the 31-year-old was found alone, due to both its morphology and the darkness and bad weather conditions prevailing at that time.

So, so far, relatives, friends and acquaintances of the accused have been summoned for statements.

At the same time, it is not excluded that within the next few hours, they will be at the office of the Greek Police, which is investigating the case in Messolonghi, quite a large number of people with some of them expected to give a second-supplementary testimony.

At the same time, the footage from cameras in the areas is being re-examined in order to establish exactly how many cars may have passed by the spot during that time.

In any case, since it was the eve of the Lights, the traffic was not particularly high.

The body of the 31-year-old was found in a prone position (face down), in advanced decomposition.

From the first evidence of the forensic examination, it appears that he has multiple gunshot wounds.

According to police sources, the injuries were caused by wild boar cartridges.

The fatal wounds are said to be the ones he received from his back, according to SKAI correspondent Christos Stratoulakos.

Investigations are continuing at the place where the body was found

The aim of the police involved in the investigations is to find evidence, such as genetic material, fingerprints and objects, which could help to reach certain conclusions about the exact circumstances under which the man was murdered.

At the same time, they are looking for evidence that may “show” whether one or more perpetrators are involved in the criminal act, while they are looking for a gun and a cell phone.

In the context of the same investigations, it is expected that the video footage from traffic management and security cameras will be re-examined, while evidence from mobile phone fingerprints, available to the Police, will also be re-evaluated.
