Restaurants and bars offer promotions and special menus on SP’s birthday

The city of São Paulo turns 470 this Thursday, the 25th, and restaurants and bars have prepared promotions and special menus to celebrate the milestone. There’s a complimentary glass of wine, mortadella pizza and a six-meter cake served at Mercadão. See the schedule below.

Animus

The restaurant by chef Giovanna Grossi and her partner and bar chef, Vanessa Civiero, prepares a drink inspired by one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, Cambuci. The region takes its name from a fruit native to the Atlantic forest, and serves as the base for Cambuiá (R$ 38), which combines cambuci juice, rum and aridan bean (African spice).

Brahma

On Thursday, the traditional bar opens an exhibition with collections about the group Demônios da Garoa, which celebrates 81 years of career. To celebrate the city’s anniversary, it also offers promotions on the date. The classic Brahma draft beer costs R$9.90 and the caipirinha costs R$19.90. Entrance will cost R$25, and it is possible to return at other times.

Casa Rios

Chef Rodrigo Aguiar prepares especially for São Paulo’s anniversary a tasting menu in six stages with classics of São Paulo cuisine, such as mortadella sandwich, São Paulo couscous with grilled shrimp, coxinha and São Paulo style turn. It costs R$200 per person.

Friendly

Bartender Gabriel Santana celebrates the city’s anniversary with a rotation of big names in cocktails at his bar, creating exclusive drinks for the date. Throughout the night, Levi Nunes (Guarita) and Victor Salinas (Parador Renata) pass by at 4pm, Luiz Felippe Mascella (Regô and Terê) and Diogo Sevilio (Diogro), at 6pm, and Marcio Silva (Exímia) and Chula (Cineclube Cortina, Jacó), at 8pm. The food will be created by the Moela bar and the Atzi taqueria.

Enosteria

Anyone who goes to the Italian cuisine restaurant on Thursday (25th) and orders any dish gets a glass of red or white wine. In addition to the courtesy, the units on Rua Oscar Freire and Vila Nova Conceição offer wines from the importer World Wine at discounted prices.

Priceless Space

The address brings together the Abarú and Notiê restaurants at the top of the Light shopping center, in the center, which hold a double celebration. Chef Onildo Rocha prepares a special menu, available until the end of January. On Thursday (25), from 12pm to 3pm, he serves an all-you-can-eat feijoada buffet at Notiê, for R$135, accompanied by a samba circle — reservations entitle you to two complimentary caipirinhas. At Abaru, it offers three combinations of snacks and drinks with São Paulo references: bolovo and rooster tail (R$55), cod pastry and sugarcane juice (R$53) and mortadella sandwich with draft beer (R$52).

Gattofiga

The pizzeria pays homage to São Paulo with a new topping, created for the date. Named Sampa (R$75), it is made up of homemade tomato sauce, endive, pancetta, fior di latte cheese and parmesan. To cap off the meal, there is a jazz performance.

La Braciera

For the date, the pizzeria prepared a special flavor. The Neapolitan-style round, in individual size, contains fior di latte, Italian mortadella, truffled stracciatella, pistachios and basil, for R$77.

Mercadão

The address, which turns 91 years old, will serve visitors a six-meter-long cake, which weighs half a ton and is shaped like the city map, for free on Thursday (25). It is made with sponge cake dough and a cream and fruit filling from Mercadão itself. The celebration, starting at 2:30 pm, is open to the public and also includes a tasting of the famous mortadella sandwich and balloon showers.

Wild

In honor of São Paulo, the restaurant located in Ibirapuera Park welcomes visitors with a special menu, developed by chefs Filipe Leite and Priscila Deus. Named Segredos Paulistanos, it is served until the 27th and includes recipes such as São Paulo couscous with grilled shrimp, smoked loin pastry from the oven and São Paulo style. It is possible to order the complete meal, for R$289, or à la carte dishes.

Stella

The restaurant at the Canopy by Hilton hotel, in Jardins, prepares a special menu, served on the 25th and 26th, which features São Paulo classics. Also available for non-guests, the meal costs R$109 per person and includes a starter, main course and dessert. Among the recipes offered are São Paulo style, biro biro rice, parmigiana, mini pastries, bauru and mortadella sandwich.
