“Our goal is the universal application of the digital work card within 2024” noted the Minister of Labor and Social Security Domna Michailidou in her greeting at a recent event organized by the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Epsilon Net Group, for the smooth implementation of the Digital Labor Card in Retail.

As stated in today’s announcement, the minister stated that: “the expansion of the application of the digital labor card in retail and industry is another step in safeguarding the rights of workers. We fight undeclared or undeclared work by supporting both the worker and the employer. We tackle unfair competition by shielding employers. At the same time, we substantially contribute to the sustainability of insurance funds. An important reform that helps achieve our goal: to continuously improve the country’s working environment. Our goal the universal application of the digital job card within 2024″.

The president of ESEE Giorgos Karanikas he underlined: “The business world with maturity says yes to the digital job card because this is how we strengthen healthy competition and legitimacy in the labor market. At the same time, as ESEE, we ask that commercial enterprises do not shoulder unnecessary bureaucratic burdens and operational costs. This is what we raised in our recent meeting with the Minister of Labor and Social Security Mrs. Domna Michailidou. In any case we need to ensure that SMEs have the most valid scientific information about the new framework that applies from 1 January. This goal is served by the specific Conferences organized since the beginning of the year by many trade associations together with ESEE, in collaboration with the specialized IT Group EPSILON NET”.

The president of the Piraeus Trade Association Theodoris Kapralos noted: “The large participation both live and online of Piraeus merchants at the conference, demonstrates the need of the business world to be properly informed about all the changes brought by the Digital Work Card, on the one hand, its intention to contribute to this effort of state to combat undeclared and undeclared work”.

The Labor Affairs consultant and general manager of Epsilon HR of the EPSILON NET Group, Vassilis Prassas, explained with examples the new implementation framework of the Digital Card and ERGANI II based on the recent clarifying decision of the Ministry of Labor and answered the questions of the merchants present regarding key issues such as the accounting statement of time changes, the organization of working time and overtime, stipulated deadlines and fines.
