In refutation of information that stated that the police operation carried out to evacuate the occupants of the Rector’s building was done at his request, the Rector of AUTH proceeded today
The Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Apostolos Apostolidis, proceeded to refute publications that circulated yesterday and reported that the police operation carried out to evacuate the squatters in the Rector’s building was done at his request.
As he states in his announcement:
“I was particularly surprised when I read reports, entitled “At the request of the temporary rector, the police raided the AUTH”.
I expressly state that I never made such a request.”
It is recalled that yesterday afternoon a police operation took place in the building of the Rector’s Office of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Police officers from the MAT and the Special Suppression Anti-Terrorist Unit (EKAM) entered the area of ​​the administration building from the underground parking lot of the building, where students had been occupying since noon.
A short time later, the individuals left the Rectory building.
