Its creator “The Nightmare Before Christmas”Tim Burton, and writer Gillian Flynn are teaming up for a remake of the 1958 sci-fi classic Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman for Warner Bros.

According to Variety, it is not yet known how closely the new film will follow the original. Budgeted at $88,000, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman offered a unique approach to the script, following the story of a wealthy heiress who turns into a giant after an encounter with an alien, further complicating her troubled marriage.

It was directed by Nathan Juran and starred Alison Hayes, William Hudson and Yvette Vickers.

The new production marks another collaboration between the acclaimed director and Warner Bros., as he is currently working on the ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel Beetlejuice.

The long-awaited film starring Michael Keaton is expected in theaters on September 6.

Also, in addition to directing, Burton will produce part of the remake alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper.
