The 7 of the 14 shrines that represent the passions of Christ on the way to Calvary and where he was on the hill of Filerimos in Rhodes, he was robbed by unknown assailants.

The theft was discovered today and Archeology and the Police have already been notified to take appropriate action.

The images from the stolen shrines represent Christ’s passion towards Calvary and were made in 1928 during the Italian occupation.

The theft has caused great disturbance mainly among the inhabitants of the island and already the competent authorities are active in an effort to identify the perpetrators and return the pilgrims.

In her announcement, the municipal councilor and former president of the municipal community of Ialyssos, Mr. Stefania Staga, states the following:

It is with great regret that I was informed that 7 copper engravings were stolen from the shrines on Pathon Street – Golgotha ​​Street that leads to the Filerimos Cross. The Ialysos Police Department and the Rhodes Police Department – Security Department have been informed for immediate action. We hope that they will be found as soon as possible and that these great honors of Christianity will be returned.
