In a few hours of blockades of the roads as well as of Egnatia Street the farmers of the Western Macedonia blocs advanced today.
More specifically, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the national highway Kozani – Florina remained closed at the height of Filotas from the farmers’ block of Eordaia and Vegoritida. Earlier at 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the farmers of Grevena blocked Egnatia street at the Myrsina junction.
During the short-term blockade, the block was visited the metropolitan of Grevena Mr. David where he expressed his undivided support in their fight while at the same time urging them to show social sensitivity and understanding to the citizens who will need to move for reasons of need outside of Grevena.
At noon at 12.00 the farmers who have lined up their tractors at the entrance of Kastoria proceeded to the symbolic blockade of the customs office and with agricultural machinery they emptied manure into the courtyard area.
At the same time, the farmers continue to reinforce with tractors the blockade at the customs of Niki in Florina and plan, at noon on Friday, to close the Florina-Bitola border for 4 hours, barring only passing trucks.
